Before sending your parcels, check their dimensions and weight. GLS has different limits for shipments picked up by a courier and those sent from a pickup point or self-service parcel locker. If the parcel exceeds the limits, it may be returned or subject to a surcharge.

  • How to pack a parcel?

Pack the parcel in a sturdy cardboard box of regular shape that can withstand a drop from 1 meter height and protect the contents from moisture and shocks. Fill the empty space well - items should not move freely or touch the box walls. GLS allows shipping in bubble envelopes and plastic bags in so-called small parcel mode up to 3 kg.

  • How to label and send a parcel?

The parcel must be labeled with a shipping label. If a courier picks up the parcel, they will bring the label and attach it upon collection. Are you sending the parcel from a drop-off point or parcel locker? In that case, print the label yourself and prepare the shipment before sending.

  • What is the insurance for GLS shipments?

Shipment insurance up to 30,000 CZK is automatically included in the shipping price. It can be used for loss or damage of the parcel domestically and internationally. Need to make a claim? You need to file a claim according to the claims procedure. But note that poorly packed parcels may be excluded from insurance by DPD.

  • How to send a COD parcel via GLS?

COD can be set up to 60,000 CZK for shipments within the Czech Republic and up to 2,000 EUR when shipping to Slovakia. Simply fill it in when ordering - just enter the amount, preferred currency, and account number. Money usually arrives within 7 business days. For shipments to Slovakia within 10 business days. The service starts at 39 CZK per shipment when shipping within the Czech Republic and at 59 CZK for shipments to Slovakia.
